Sun Certified MySQL Associate (SCMA)

The Sun Certified MySQL Associate (CMA) credential provides a foundation for further MySQL certification. Unlike other MySQL certifications, the Associate certification is not tied to any particular version of MySQL, but focuses on details of using MySQL that are universal no matter what version of the software you are using.

Sun Certified MySQL Developer (SCMDEV)

The Sun Certified MySQL Developer (CMDEV) certification is targeted toward candidates who will be developing applications that use MySQL as back-end storage. To achieve certification, candidates must successfully complete both part I and part II exams. Although the recommended progression through these exams is to complete first the part I and then the part II, the exam part numbers do not express an advancement level. Rather, each part covers distinct areas of expertise, and the exams may be taken in any order.

Sun Certified MySQL Database Administrator (SCMDBA)

An individual holding the Sun Certified MySQL Database Administrator (SCMDBA) certification has extensive and broad competences in his or her field of expertise. The SCMDBA certification is targeted at candidates who will take the administrative role of tuning, planning, and optimizing data layout for one or many servers, but do not write many applications.

Sun Certified MySQL Cluster Database Administrator (SCMCDBA)

The Sun Certified MySQL Cluster Database Administrator (SCMCDBA) is a specialization exam for those that design, deploy and administer MySQL Cluster setups. Cluster certification is part of the DBA track, and represents an advancement level exceeding SCMDBA certification. SCMCDBA can be attained only by Sun Certified MySQL DBAs. To achieve certification, candidates must successfully complete one exam, candidates must be certified as a Sun Certified MySQL Database Administrator (SCMDBA) prior to taking this exam.
